America Card Room OSS Wraps Up With Guarantee Destroying $1,000,000 GTD Sunday Doubleheader. If Sunday’s showing at Americas Cardroom was any indication of things to come, 2018 promises to be epic. The US facing online poker site hosted two $1,000,000 GTD tournaments on the same day for the first time, and both had no problem covering.
“Our doubleheader was a massive success and we’re already excited about what’s in store next year,” stated Michael Harris, spokesperson for Americas Cardroom. “With $14 million in guaranteed prize money on the table, the OSS Cub3d was our biggest tournament series yet — and we’re just getting started.”
Americas Cardroom held a $540 buy-in Million Dollar Sunday at 3pm ET, which ultimately saw a final prize pool worth $1,192,500 thanks to a field of 2,385 entries. Online poker player anythingdk won the tournament for $238,500, with thefavorites1 and Frogy16 taking home $129,505 and $86,337 for 2rd and 3rd, respectively.
It wasn’t the first $1,000,000 GTD of the day, though. Two hours earlier, a high roller’s version got underway for a $2,000+100 buy-in. The tournament attracted 562 entries, pushing the final prize pool up to $1,124,000. The tourney title went to omaha4rollzz, who earned $224,800 for taking it down.
If two $1,000,000 GTDs on the same day sounds epic, Americas Cardroom is just getting started. Players who log into the software today can see Million Dollar Sunday events during each of the first 12 weeks of 2018.
The success of the $1,000,000 GTD tourneys wasn’t the only huge news from last weekend. Americas Cardroom also hosted the biggest cash game in the world that day, taking advantage of the traffic increase from the OSS Cub3d.
